Try this exercise to strengthen your back and help reduce BACK PAIN.
Weak back muscles can contribute to lower back pain.
A simple, easy to perform exercise that can be done at home with little to no equipment are hip thrusts. No giggling please.
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Push up until your thighs are in line with your torso, then come back down.
If this is too easy, you can add more weight, or raise your feet up higher.
When combined with core exercises, like planks, that strengthen the rest of the torso, and with stretches for the back AND for the legs, this can go a long way towards eliminating lower back pain.
Many of my personal training clients have seen a great reduction in back pain and improvement in quality of life through building up the strength and flexibility in their back and their legs.
